The Angham Al Oud team, led by Wael Salah, the team’s lead oud player, provides live Arabic music for hotels, restaurants and corporate events in Dubai and across the UAE. We work with events and hospitality teams on a programme that suits the venue and the guests, from calm oud in the lobby to a takht sharqi for a formal dinner.
For hotels and restaurants
In lobbies, restaurants and Ramadan tents, oud gives guests a sense of welcome and of local culture without overpowering conversation. Performances can be weekly on set nights, or for seasonal occasions such as Ramadan, Eid, National Day and New Year’s Eve, with sets arranged with the hotel team.
For corporate events
We play at formal dinners, delegation receptions, product launches, exhibitions and staff celebrations. We follow the timing of speeches and formal segments, playing during reception and dinner and pausing when needed, as agreed in advance with the organiser.
Available line-ups
- Solo oud: calm instrumental music, or oud with vocals by Wael Salah.
- Duo (oud and percussion): light rhythm that adds energy while keeping the mood intimate.
- Trio: oud and percussion, with nay, qanun or a singer as the third member, depending on the occasion.
- Zaffa: live music with percussion and vocals for the entrance of the couple or guests.
- Takht sharqi: oud, qanun, nay and percussion with vocals for a full tarab evening. Read about our takht sharqi.
A programme for international guests
The programme can be fully instrumental, or include well-known Arabic and Khaleeji songs, with pieces familiar to guests from different cultures. We prepare the programme with you; the final programme may vary with circumstances, the musicians available and the nature of the venue.
Working with your events team
- We coordinate with your events coordinator on the performance spot, setup times and sound check.
- The venue usually provides the sound system, and we send our technical needs in advance.
- We agree on suitable dress for the event, including Gulf dress on request.

Can we arrange weekly performances at our hotel?
Yes, we can agree on set nights each week or seasonal periods, and arrange the details with your hotel team.
Do we need a sound system?
Halls and hotels usually provide the sound system, and we coordinate with their team in advance. For homes and villas, we can bring sound for a modest extra fee.
Is there a travel fee?
There is no travel fee within the usual cities; a travel fee applies only to far venues such as Liwa and remote areas.
How far ahead should we book?
You can book as little as one day before the event; booking earlier is better for weekends and busy seasons.
