The Angham Al Oud team brings live Arabic music to Sharjah and the Northern Emirates, led by Wael Salah, the team’s lead oud player. We play at weddings, family occasions, cultural evenings and corporate events, with line-ups from solo oud to zaffa and takht sharqi. We are based in Dubai and serve all Emirates.

Arabic music for occasions in Sharjah
Sharjah has a strong cultural and family character, so we make sure the programme suits families and guests of all ages. We play in wedding halls, hotels, majlis and homes, and at cultural evenings and exhibitions, respecting the privacy and timing of each occasion.
Weddings and zaffa
Live music can accompany the couple’s entrance with a zaffa, then move to calm music during dinner or a tarab session at the end of the evening. See our Arabic wedding band and zaffa band.
Available line-ups
- Solo oud: calm instrumental music, or oud with vocals by Wael Salah.
- Duo (oud and percussion): light rhythm that adds energy while keeping the mood intimate.
- Trio: oud and percussion, with nay, qanun or a singer as the third member, depending on the occasion.
- Zaffa: live music with percussion and vocals for the entrance of the couple or guests.
- Takht sharqi: oud, qanun, nay and percussion with vocals for a full tarab evening. Read about our takht sharqi.
What We Play
We play classic Arabic tarab and well-known Khaleeji, Emirati, Egyptian and Levantine songs, along with oud instrumentals and taqasim. We agree on the song list and special requests with you before the event. We prepare the programme with you; the final programme may vary with circumstances, the musicians available and the nature of the venue.
Sharjah and the Northern Emirates
We perform in Sharjah, Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah. Sharjah is close to our base in Dubai, so there is no travel fee within it; a travel fee applies only to far venues. We also have a presence in Kuwait and Egypt.
Our recent work
Recent work includes Liwa Festival 2026 and a collaboration with Rouh Dubai Choir for National Day celebrations. You can find photos and videos in our gallery.
