The couple's entrance is one of the most beautiful and most awaited moments of a wedding. At Angham Al Oud, we perform the zaffa with a live Arabic music band, prepared around the couple's and family's taste, so your zaffa comes with your own songs, in a style that feels like your family. We perform it in Dubai and across the UAE, led by Wael Salah, an Egyptian oud player and singer and the founder of the Rouh Dubai Choir (Dubai Opera).

A Live-Music Zaffa, Shaped Around You
Many zaffas rely on drums and rhythm alone, and they are lovely for their energy. Our zaffa is built on a full band: melodic instruments, percussion and live vocals. That means the zaffa carries melodies and lyrics your family knows and sings along to, and the rhythm and songs follow what you choose, not a fixed routine.
Choose Your Zaffa Style
- Egyptian zaffa: well-known Egyptian wedding songs and their joyful rhythm.
- Levantine zaffa: the spirit of weddings in the Levant, with songs everyone sings along to.
- Gulf zaffa: Khaleeji melodies and rhythms that suit weddings in the UAE and the Gulf.
- Tarab zaffa: for a calm, graceful entrance to classic tarab.
- Mixed zaffa: when the couple come from different countries, we blend two or more styles so each family recognises itself in the moment.
We agree on the songs and their order with you, and welcome any song that holds special meaning for you.
How the Zaffa Works
We agree in advance with the venue or hotel and the wedding planner on the entrance route, the band's position, the starting cue and the length of the zaffa. On the night, the band begins on the entrance cue and accompanies the couple to their place, then the music moves smoothly into the next part of the evening. Wael Salah can also walk with the couple during the entrance with his oud and voice, as a one-man show that accompanies them step by step, then return to the band in its place to carry on the music. We take the size of the space and the number of guests into account when choosing the line-up.
From the Zaffa to the End of the Evening
The advantage of a band zaffa is that the same band can keep playing after the entrance: calm music during dinner, then a takht sharqi, a tarab evening and songs your guests join in. This gives the celebration one continuous musical character, without breaks between segments. Read more about our Arabic wedding band in Dubai.
Tips for a Lovely Zaffa
- Choose the songs early: the entrance song is what guests will remember, so take your time choosing it well before the wedding.
- Think of both families: if the couple come from different countries, a song from each makes everyone part of the moment.
- Check the entrance route: a clear, unobstructed route gives the zaffa a comfortable pace, and we help you arrange it with the venue.
- Coordinate with your photographer: sharing the timing and order of the zaffa helps them capture the moments that matter.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which zaffa styles do you offer?
Egyptian, Levantine, Gulf or tarab-style zaffa, or a mixed zaffa that blends two styles when the couple come from different countries.
Can we choose the zaffa songs?
Yes. We agree on the songs and their order with you before the wedding, and take requests where possible, especially songs that mean something to you. You'll find a list of songs on the Contact page.
Can the musician walk in with the couple?
Yes. Wael Salah can walk in with the couple, playing oud and singing, then rejoin the band so the music carries on.
Can the band keep playing after the zaffa?
Yes. The band can continue through dinner and the evening, within sets of up to 2 hours, as a solo, an oud and tabla duo, or a trio.
How do you coordinate with the venue?
We agree on the entrance route, the band's position and the start cue with the venue or planner in advance. The venue usually provides the sound system; for smaller venues such as homes and villas, we can bring sound for a modest extra fee.
When should we book the zaffa, and what does it cost?
The price depends on the type of event, its length and the venue. Ask for a quote on WhatsApp at +971 54 344 6440. You can book as little as one day before, though booking earlier helps for weekends and busy seasons. A deposit of up to 50% confirms the booking. We're based in Dubai and serve all Emirates.
